Beach finds

Pebbles:

Conch:

Small shells:

White rock:

Seaweed and surf!

Lobster-trap tag:

I might give ol' Bob a call and let him know we found it.

Sand:

Behind the beach, deer leavings!

In the distance, a Wild Greg reclining on the sand!

I know you're not supposed to feed wild animals...but he looked hungry, so I took him for lunch!

Then he followed me home.

Long Island!

First stop: coffee.

Then the highway.

Can you see this guy's licence plate? If he's such a sorcerer why is he stuck in traffic with us reg'lar people?

Soon:

Open spaces! Sigh:

At the end of the road: the beach!

Beach love.

Pure relaxation.

Daycation!

Greg and I are driving to Long Island.

Bye!

When did this happen?

In front of our house.

Sprouts!

Remember those seeds I found a long time ago? Well, I was trying to grow them following the instructions on the package.

Nothing happened.

So, my new thing: sprouting them on wet paper towel.

It's working!

Can you see that tiny "sprote" in the middle? (It's really best to pronounce it Nova Scotia–style)

Unravelling

Curly fluorescence!

Greenpoint Dumpster

Was someone building a boat?

Or storing a kayak?

Crabapple jelly

Thanks Beth!

We exchanged: she got a haircut and Greg and I got this delicious homemade nectar!

We were saying, it's so beautiful that it almost makes you appreciate paintings like this.

Almost, but not quite. Sorry Mary Pratt.

Crochet drawing

Explaining the intricacies of a stitch to a knitter.

This makes me realize I haven't drawn anything in a long, long time.

Memory card

I took these pictures three weeks ago, a few seconds before I smashed my camera.

Beautiful Sunday-night snow in Midtown.

UPDATE

My camera has arrived. It is AWESOME. Many improvements on the G9.

Cheesecake

...with chocolate sauce made by yours truly.

Nice work if you can get it.

Hey, this is classy:

Did I ever tell you the story of how we got our cutlery? I came off the subway one afternoon to find a bag of knives and forks in the basket of my bike, which was locked up by the stop. So I just rode on home with them.

Apparently some of them were stolen from Paris Hilton?

I love the Internet!

I just bought this album on iTunes.

So beloved in my youth. We had the record, and I must have looked at this cover a thousand times.

(I have to listen to it when Greg's not home.)

New developments

Flowers, and new grafitti developments across the street.

You remember this, of course.

Can't say this is much of an improvement.

Ides of March

Happy birthday Andrew! The Grace Maternity Hospital's finest year!

But, um, worst snowman EVER.

Erected in a dirt patch by the administration of a housing project in Chelsea. Vandalized months ago, not yet removed. Thanks a lot, housing-project administration (PS Your people hate this damn snowman!).

Three little cubs

You remember this little guy.

And this one.

But I don't think you've met the little cub on the left yet:

Sure he's got a few problems. But int he cute??

I think he was born a bit premature.

Happy Saturday Gregory

Very comfortable.

Setagaya

Good place to go on the way home on Friday night.

SO DELICIOUS! And open late.

(The egg is the best part.)

Meow Mix

Did you ever notice that this logo is really weird?

Is that supposed to be its INTESTINES or something?

How to make a designer want to die

Sorry.

March 12, 2009

These are just so pretty

Beth's house.

Birthday present!

Robert Moses power dam!!

Nautical theme:

The Pinetree State:
