Soon Greg and I will have new desks in our new office. I think I can use this for my desk stuff: pens and pencils, post-its, whiteout, etc.—it is nice and big.

A very odd bag

As we walked home from the L train last night, Sarah H. and I stumbled across a large, abandoned paper bag on the sidewalk, filled with an assortment of items:

Two silk-covered cushions in a plastic shopping bag

A cream-colored silk-and-cashmere women's cardigan, size large (lightly worn)

A brand-new black-and-white print dress from Ann Taylor, with the tags still on it (apparently it was going for $79)



































Three packages of large Dixie cups

A pair of brown-and-blue women's Pumas (size 40), brand new in the box.


















We left the cushions but took the other stuff. Sarah has a new dress, I have a new sweater (it's a bit big, but still...), and one of us (as yet undetermined) has a new pair of sneakers. And I guess the Dixie cups are mine since I did bring them home with me...

Andrew's diamond

He found this incredible plexiglass (I think?) diamond in the garbage and customized it with a Sweet Icicle Light I got for a couple bucks at the staff sale at work. Pretty rad!

Speaking of our desk...

...check out this amazing chair. Found it down the street, gave it a coat of white paint. (I am sitting on it right now!)



































It really is a very nice old wooden desk chair—probably oak, in perfect condition: springs, casters, carved wood.

He is off work this week and has been spending a lot of time at the studio.

Happy Thanksgiving holy crap our desk fell off the wall!

The weight bent the screws and the two-by-four came out of the wall. (In the pics below it is propped up by a piece of wood.)

Our living room is a disaster, compounded by the fact that we drank two bottles of wine in it last night in the middle of the mess.



We probably had 300 pounds on the back of the desk: very heavy black oak shelves (found on the street) (you can see them below in the doorway at the back of the pic) filled with art books; two computers, a scanner printer, files galore, art supplies... I am not really surprised it finally gave out. Yep and now that stuff is strewn all over the room.





Greg heroically saved my new computer.

We decided to have a big dinner last night

Greg roasted a chicken and bought a bottle of wine. Sarah made sweet potatoes, stuffing, and kale. I made gravy and a pie.





The birds and squirrels got the apple cores and we all had pie for breakfast this morning.
