Birds in the yard!

On the west coast they have real blue jays (not gray jays, as in the east). Check them out—they look really different:

This dog...

...hates you, me, and himself.

Why

This sign is supposed to communicate the fact that there are cameras at the intersections that will snap a pic of your licence plate if you run a red light:

But why in god's name did they choose a pictograph of a camera that has BEEN OBSOLETE for ONE HUNDRED YEARS?!??? Bewildering.

Guffaw!!

I just discovered this picture on Greg's camera:

Kitties

When we arrived we couldn't find the two kitties anywhere in the apartment. Eventually I found Minnow in the paper shredder box.

Aw.

I have still only seen Rumble for a split second; he stays in his nest under the bed when we are around. He snuck out in the night to eat his food.

Various Vancouver vignettes

There is a mountain at the end of our street!!!!

Vancouver has really beautiful trees:

These pots look like little nomes (with pointy hats)! Or ice cream cones!

I made a special toy for my sister's cat, Bijou

As my grandmother once said, Bijou is a gem of a cat.

BE CAREFUL!

Our friend Sarah H. got hit by a car in Greenpoint yesterday. A guy did a left turn into her and knocked her down; he didn't even look. He was going to drive away but luckily there were two undercover narcotics officers on a stakeout nearby (?!) and they came to help. She is OK, but she is pissed off!

GAD! Now her halloween costume seems so IRONIC.

Greggy Hanukkah present

A sweater and a special pin to wear with it:

I think he likes it!

Note: he is wearing them here.

Tom

Every year we get a Christmas card from our super, Tom, and we give him a few bucks. He is the self-proclaimed "Mayor of the Block."

I see him outside every morning. Every time he sees me walking to work instead of riding he says, "No bike today?" and cackles hysterically.

He is the strangest person; I can't even explain. It is impossible.

Nothing on the envelope, just "2 F 69" (we live in apartment 2 at 69 Sutton Street):

Nice card:

He has forgotten our names apparently:

But we know he loves us!

Found!

First-aid kit box. Awesome.

Soon Greg and I will have new desks in our new office. I think I can use this for my desk stuff: pens and pencils, post-its, whiteout, etc.—it is nice and big.

Gotta scrub it first.

Early Hanukkah celebration

First game of dreidel (for both of 'em):

Cleaning us all out!! And giggling maniacally:

Darn beginner's luck.

Oh well. We ate the walnuts after he went to bed.

One little squirrel gets its breakfast

I just bought this book for my niece and nephews...

...and I am pretty darn happy about it.

I wish it would snow. (I also want a snowsuit like that.)

UPDATE:
I got what I asked for in Montreal on the weekend. (The snow, not the snowsuit.)
