Same but different

Remember these orange Mikasa mugs?

Ok, well check this out:

I bought it on Etsy.

Makes me happy.

It's pretty cause it's yellow

It's kind of a rule.

Ha ha

Some doofus went inside and left his bike light on!

Name of Greg.

CRINKLE CRINKLE

Huh—what?

What is that...pink...bag...

CANDY!

I had Almond Joy.

Then I had Almond Why-Did-I-Eat-That-I-Don't-Even-Like-It-And-Now-My-Heart-Is-Racing-And-I-Feel-Strangely-Hot.

Then I had Almond Joy again.

[Cycle repeats infinitely]

Turkey pot pie

Greg made it last night, because I had work to do.

It was SO GOOD—because he did something I never do. Which is: follow the damn recipe!

I made the biscuits for the top.

Leftover biscuits for breakfast:

YES.

Friends!

Oh, hewo friends.

Playing in the snow again?

Looks like fun!

Well, gotta go—bye!

White out

Hard day at the office.

What?!

Wow, cleaned!

Now what was the point of that, I wonder?

Saturday night of shame

Before leaving for our friend's birthday party, around 9 p.m. Greg and I lay down to have a little half-hour nap.

And then...errrrrrrrrr...it was instantly 2 a.m.?

Yes, we slept through Alyssa's birthday. Us = accidental assholes.

The only upside is that we woke up on Sunday morning at the unprecedented hour of 7:45.

So we had lots of time to make a nice breakfast:

Lima beans with toasted garlic. Scrambled eggs with kale in a toasted flour tortilla. Apple slices. Coffee and juice.

We also cleaned and vacuumed the entire apartment, put a bunch of stuff out on the curb, sorted our mountain of laundry, washed and dried it, did an hour of freelance work, cooked a turkey and trimmings, went to the Met and saw a million paintings, talked to family on the phone, and watched The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Crazy.

Found by Greg!

World's smallest sunglasses!

I'm sending these pictures to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Christmas cactus

I let the minicats play in it.

Crocheting, eating a pear, and listening to the radio . . . in bed

It's always better to add "in bed."

New York type

Right?

Haven't you seen this guy, like, a thousand times?

(YES I TOOK THIS PICTURE SECRETLY AND NO I HAVE NEVER HIDDEN IN HIS DUMBWAITER!)*

*See Harriet the Spy.

Cézanne

I really think he is the best painter ever.

Then there is "Douanier" Rousseau.

RAAAAAAAWWWRRR! [chaw chaw chaw]

Leopard head: very chewy.

Friends

Edmée and the new guy spent the weekend together.

She says his name is "Exley" (he only talks to her).

Problem solving

Dish drainer too small because you haven't done your dishes for a week?

Just grab some newspapers and a chair!

Problem solved.

Greg

Turkey genius.

Organic, free range, farmer's market eleven-pounder + nine hours of slow-cooking = best Sunday dinner ever!

Next: turkey pot pie.

Found!

Seed pods!

With many seeds in em!

Cool.

November 5, 2009

Kale season!

It's the best season.

Ideas

Anthropologie catalogue:

I tried a whale.

Not ba-a-a-a-ad, but...I'm going to keep working on it.

(Then make a polie bear cub out of felt!)

Holiday presents on the cheap, yo!

Bauhaus 1919–1933: Workshops for Modernity

Opening.

Loud!

Cookies

All-natural, "artisan," baked by hand, and packaged in a protective atmosphere!

Also: hungry.

Sorry owl, kitty needed a snack!

I want to make me one of these

Don't you love the one orange piece? It's like a heart in a body.

Wary Meyers just finds these things at yard sales.

I want to go to those yard sales!

Saturday morning memories

Me and Greggy, sitting on a bench.

Drinking E-S-P-R-E-S-S-O!

Not pictured: cinnamon bun.

NEW FRIEND!

He just showed up the other day. I think he wiggled in under the door?

Quite the fixed stare he's got.

This is what happens

When you get really busy and forget to monitor the Netflix queue.

Worst three-movie combo EVAR!

Sigh. Just send 'em back.

More baked apples!

I used the bakeware I found!

Worked perfectly.
