That brown molding...

...really worked out! This afternoon I painted the front hall—and now it looks beautiful. Here is the molding in situ (sorry the pictures aren't great; I am still figuring out the camera):

And a wider view. We just got that shoe thingie, so our seventeen thousand pairs of shoes no longer sit in a dingy heap of death.
