It used to be
black and new and perfect, but that didn't sit right with us. First we sanded the hell out of it, then we replaced all the matching knobs with mismatched glass, metal, and wood ones. That still didn't do the job, so I painted it (with "Oak Buff" paint found on the street). Then a couple months later I painted all the knobs. That was better, but then I edited a book about
Roy McMakin and got INSPIRED. NOW it is really perfect.
