Decor addition
Donald Duck with his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, in a grayish-lavendar plastic frame.
I saw it in a thrift store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and like the Santa Claus boot, I just had to have it!
I unpacked it and stuck it up there last night. It really balances out the whole look, dontcha think?

Somewhere in Maine

Ice Box.
I got a super-weird soft serve!
I shoulda sent it back but instead I ate it.
(Note: I acquired a white hat to match Greg's Deck Plug! Plus I am wearing my special "vacation" T-shirt—oversized, formerly Greg's, purple heather, and with the neck and sleeves cut off.)

Purchased!
At the staff sale at work:
The kindliest, most sweet-faced disembodied one-dollar goat head in existence. Right now he is perched on top of my computer monitor, gazing at me with loving kindness.
Just waiting for the moment when I need to MEASURE SOMETHING.
Yes folks—my new friend is also a tape measure.
Now do you understand why staff-sale day is the best day of the entire year??

Rainy Saturday errands

So much more fun to do them in a pickup truck with Greg!
Buy three pounds of coffee at the coffee store. And why not get two espressos while you're at it?
Hmmm. With Long Boys?
No—
Caramels of course!
Drink it in the car. Best ever.

Today
At the corner store with my friend Beth, I happened to notice this item in the freezer.
Yes, Mamita's Batata Cream.
I showed it to Beth and she was like—LET'S GET IT! (Somehow this radical step had not occurred to me: a key difference in our personalities.)
It was shockingly good!
Derlicious quiescently frozen tropical-sweet-potato-flavored frozen custard is now in my life!

Is it weird
To buy a child's sweater when you don't have a child?
I saw this hand-made item at Value Village in Montreal and for some reason I had to have it.
And now I do.

My favorite chocolate in the entire world
They changed the recipe in the fall—and the new formula is really bad. Since then I have been buying up and stockpiling all the original bars I can find. For a while I had quite the cupboard full.
Tonight I ate the very last piece. I actually feel really sad!
