It's not too often that I see something and my hand just reaches out and grabs it.
I saw this on a shelf at Goodwill and next thing I knew it was under my arm (then I took the banana peel out of it).
Is it not perfect?
Take a minute to appreciate the design and workmanship!
The perfect cherry red. Asymmetrical perfectly modeled folds. White trim and sole. No visible seam, no chips or cracks. Unused.
I am going to treasure this Santa boot planter for the REST of my LIFE!!

Little bear
I really wanted to rescue him from the flea market!
The first thing I would have done is take that button off him so he could scarmper around in his underpants like a bear should.
Note to self: sometimes you should just spend the twelve dollars.

Landlady II
You may recall that she had our kitchen floor replaced for no reason.
Well, two weeks ago, during that big rainstorm, we had a leak in the ceiling of our bedroom. Now workers are in the process of replacing THE ENTIRE ROOF.
Furthermore. We had been having a problem with our toilet, namely that something seemed to be blocking the pipe. Last week...a plumber came...and removed our toilet...and installed a brand-new one!
I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

You were reading Henry and Beezus.
I feel we have a lot in common.

Working late tired dinner
Stick rice and water in the rice cooker. Don't forget to turn it on! Stick a pan on the stove. Dump into it:
Can of chopped tomatoes
Can of chickpeas
1 bay leaf
Turn on burner. Go sit at computer.
Sometime later... IT IS DONE!
Rice into bowl. "Sauce" onto rice. Grate some cheese. Add to bowl. Stir.
Stick it in your mouf. Swallow.
You are no longer hungry.

New blanket!
Well, I haven't finished the hexagons yet, but I had an idea for a blanket made of strips. I started it!
The plan is to take these (which are blanket length):
And join them together thus:
And so on.
Awesome, correct?
It is for my other sister.

Old friend
I got this doll in Zimbabwe when I was five.
Isn't she great?
She has a baby that rides on her back.
In her bag is a swatch of knitting and toothpick knitting needles!
She lives on the bookcase.

Gentle Readers,
You may be wondering where I have been.
No, I did not run away to live with the skorls. I have been at my desk, in my office, working.
Big project—almost over...

This guy showed up out of nowhere.
He lets me hold him.

I went to Montreal for the weekend!
Yep, and I flew Porter.
Can you believe: FREE LUNCH!
Also: free espresso IN A MUG, free juice, and free snacks in their terminal in Toronto.
(And, yes . . . I like dog stories.)
