Pilfering instinct
This morning as I was rifling through the laundry pile looking for my yoga clothes, I heard a loud jingling from the pocket of Greg's pants.
I thought "AW YEAHHHHH," and I immediately snatched the coins and stuffed them in my pocket.
I am not sure why, ezzackly—I JUST WANTED THEM.
Later I gave them to a panhandler on the subway.

Literary reference
If you have read The Worshipful Lucia, by E. F. Benson, you will know why I laughed when I saw this bottle at an art opening on the weekend.

Found today
A very cool piece of ephemera in a Fall 1984 Mad Magazine!
My friend Pat gave me a stack of old Mads, and I have been reading them all—it's quite a trip. I used to read my brother's when I was a kid.
Pat buys them online; he uses the fold-outs on the inside back covers to make awesome little paintings.

Found on the street
This amazing Eames chair!
I cleaned it up and was totally going to sell it. But then I put this cushion in it . . . and it looks so good!
Now I have to keep it.

Saturday
I went around on my bike gathering items.
From the junk room of a Lutheran Church:
Life of Johnson! Set in two columns.
With a surprise:
One awesome dollar.
Also one dollar:
"Mom" jeans.
This book (a first edition), also a dollar:
Best.
Then I picked up some coffee, so Sunday morning wouldn't be sad.
And last but not least, a stop at the local artisanal butcher:
That is correct, six slices of bacon for $6.47.
And the best thing, not purchased but pilfered:
It was on a spider plant at the butcher shop...
