Why

This sign is supposed to communicate the fact that there are cameras at the intersections that will snap a pic of your licence plate if you run a red light:



But why in god's name did they choose a pictograph of a camera that has BEEN OBSOLETE for ONE HUNDRED YEARS?!??? Bewildering.

When we arrived we couldn't find the two kitties anywhere in the apartment. Eventually I found Minnow in the paper shredder box.

I have still only seen Rumble for a split second; he stays in his nest under the bed when we are around. He snuck out in the night to eat his food.

Our friend Sarah H. got hit by a car in Greenpoint yesterday. A guy did a left turn into her and knocked her down; he didn't even look. He was going to drive away but luckily there were two undercover narcotics officers on a stakeout nearby (?!) and they came to help. She is OK, but she is pissed off!

GAD! Now her halloween costume seems so IRONIC.

Tom

Every year we get a Christmas card from our super, Tom, and we give him a few bucks. He is the self-proclaimed "Mayor of the Block."

I see him outside every morning. Every time he sees me walking to work instead of riding he says, "No bike today?" and cackles hysterically.

He is the strangest person; I can't even explain. It is impossible.

He belonged to my mom and her siblings when they were little. Now he lives at my grandma's.
