NY Bagels are "not even close" because they are a different animal. I've had these and they are delicious. But I've also had equally delicious NY bagels. It's like comparing a Parisian baguette with a Milanese ciabatta. No can do.
I spose you're right. It may be a matter of personal preference - I am not so into the giant bready bagel, and perhaps I haven't had a top quality NY-style bagel... Where to get one?
Yes! Grew up in Halifax (well, Dartmouth), went to grad school in Toronto, now live in Greenpoint, Bk. I got a sis and bro and niece and nephews in Montreal so I am there several times a year.
