St-Viateur bagels

Truly the best in the world.

Hand rolled, boiled, baked in a wood-burning brick oven, purchased warm $6.75 for une douzaine.

Devoured.

New York bagels are not even close.

  1. NY Bagels are "not even close" because they are a different animal. I've had these and they are delicious. But I've also had equally delicious NY bagels. It's like comparing a Parisian baguette with a Milanese ciabatta. No can do.

  2. I spose you're right. It may be a matter of personal preference - I am not so into the giant bready bagel, and perhaps I haven't had a top quality NY-style bagel... Where to get one?

  5. Yes! Grew up in Halifax (well, Dartmouth), went to grad school in Toronto, now live in Greenpoint, Bk. I got a sis and bro and niece and nephews in Montreal so I am there several times a year.

    Are you Canadian too?
