This is a Dawn Redwood, Metasequoia glyptostroboides. It's a conifer, hence the "smell good" qualities! The branches, unfortunately, are too low. They'll get damaged by parking cars and so on. Hopefully a Citizen Tree Pruner will care for this tree.
Wow thanks! It's on Apollo Street, between Meeker and Nassau Aves, in case you want to help it out.
Got to love a brave tree.Like my front lawn dwarf pine. It's completely buried under snow 5 months per year and always resurrects itself every April - but it does not grow.
That's a good tree. Maybe it doesn't grow cause it's a dorf?
Those pics would make nice desktop backgrounds. :) Love the shapes and saturated green.
