Think of it like one of those Kilgore Trout novels that Eliot Rosewater collected in "God Bless you Mr. Rosewater."(Kurt Vonnegut) Giving "Tristessa" a lurid cover and sexy one line blurb, was the publishers way of trying to get someone to buy it.
