Thanks for the flowers, Mr. Rockefeller!

Or, rather—thanks for letting us scavenge them after your Annual Corporate Luncheon at MoMA.

They do add cheer to one's humble dwelling.

Assemble-your-own-sandwich night!

I can get creative with eggs.

I can't help it!

I just think this is really, really cute.

I am working on a hat...

...the exact color of my skin!

And I am getting not a little perverse pleasure out of it.

Mmmmm. Flesh beret.

Special package!

Once again, eBay rocks my world!

Later on Saturday

On Saturday, after VOLTA, we went to an opening by my facebook friend Rachel Beach in Williamsburg at Like the Spice. It was so rad!

I can has this one?

Pink and gold:

Skorl art, starring acorns!!

It's called Burrow.

Yay Rachel! Um, and I think I'll recognize you next time I see you.

UPDATE: Much better pictures here.

Then we went to the Boiler, Pierogi's new space.

Things started to get blurry so I just stood in a corner and pretended I was cool.

It tends to be a good strategy.

It might feel like spring...

...but if the ground is wet, don't wear your white jeans!

One week ago

Can you believe it?

Reason to go to Larry Lawrence

He's friendly.

And he's got his own reserved table!

Purr.

Two hand-drawn signs

Chelsea:

This is very nice.

Williamsburg:

This is . . . I dunno?! But it makes me laugh.

Greggy took both these pics.

Saturday!

What a beautiful morning—let's take our coffee to the park!

Oh hey, the farmers' market! Sort of forgot about this place.

Taters:

Apples:

Mushrooms!

Coffee two ways:

Also: hobo pants.

Then we went to VOLTA (it was pretty terrible).

I don't know about you...

...but when I walk by a paint can on the sidewalk I like to give it a kick. The result: we got a lot of paint in our closet.

I dug it all out to find a color to paint a new cabinet (I accidentally painted it bubblegum pink)

I think there's some behind there too:

And...back here:

Might be a bit of a fire hazard...?

Poinsettia

Maybe if I put it in the guestroom on top of the pink cabinet it will stop dying?

Here's hoping.

Dear designers

See this ad? 2009 NYC School Survey.

How do you like its "leaf"?

Ver-r-r-r-r-r-y well done.

Lulu

Lookit her!

My friend Claire rescues kitties in need. They live with her and her own five cats (and her husband, Ross) in their beautiful house in Bed-Stuy until she can find homes for them.

She picked up Lulu wandering in the street. And now, here is Lulu with her new friend, Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart, at her new home—Corpus Christi Monastery in Hunters Point, in the Bronx!

Of course they wanted a black-and-white kitty!

Thank you T. Rowe Price!

I received the annual report. Return on investment over last 12 months: -42.26%

Yup.

Manicure!

Oh my god AWESOME! Thanks Beth!

She got hers painted too.

The name of the color is (*snort*) "mini shorts."

Who thinks that would be a good nickname for Beth??

Made for Greg

New iPod holder!

Nice. The old one was a little too small (and it wasn't hunter orange).

Greg took the pic with his camera.

Yesterday

We have a child-sized melamine school chair on our fire escape.

Birdfeeder.

Lots of snow.

I BROKE MY CAMERA!

It is all cracked.

Found yesterday in a trashcan:

Basketweave!

Got my hat on.

I am ready to go to sea.
