My sis

She brought me these beautiful sunflowers for my desk.

Aw.

And they came in this awesome old-fashionedy paper!

I like the handwritten "say it with flowers" and the variety of bouquets.

I will preserve it, natch.

Around 5:30

It's the best time of day at the beach.

Take down the umbrella. Get out the coffee and chocolate.

Just look at the water for a while.

This restaurant

Probably not Zagat rated?

Sign design

Make the "important" words really big.

The others?—just bung 'em in there.

Q: Who will speak for the flowers?

A: They will speak for themselves.

Miscellaneous hole?

Fill it with spray foam and an old bucket!

Vacation breakfast

Chinese checkers, anyone?

God loves a clothesline

So do I.

One of the many great things about our vacation!

Exley

Nesting instinct.

Found!

A kind of cool (?) old chest.

I left it there (no treasure in it either).

I took this baby though:

I have the PERFECT spot for it!

One day I'll paint it a less-ugly color.

Work party

Everyone made shapes with the confetti.

Incredible find on Driggs Avenue!

A discarded collection of an ilk that is becoming obsolete: small books and ephemera published by museums and galleries.

All from New York, from the 1960s to the early 2000s.

Wait till you see what I brought home!

I read it. I did it!

Excellent suggestion, Ben!

P.S. Canadians, are you appreciating the Sam the Record Man reference in the title of this post?

Wow

So beautiful, and it did it all by itself!

Found

In Kingston, by the Hudson River.

Some kind of seed pod? With a crazy Chewbacca face?

Did it come from the river or from the big tree on the beach?

No one seems to know.

Vacation companion

Oh, hi Henry!

Time for walkies?

OK let's go!

Run run run run run run.

Run on the wall!

Jump in the bathtub!

Important investigations:

Sniff sniff sniff sniff pant pant pant . . .

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Good dog.

Near my office

Miniaturized Pollock paintings for sale!

Not cool.

There should be a rule that only miniature people can purchase these.

Country legs

Scratched by sawgrass and the dog, covered in bug bites and bruises.

Found by Greg

A Richard Tuttle sculpture, just lying on the road.

How could someone be so careless?

Ellenville, New York

"I am every day"?

Darn kids must've been fooling with the letters.

White corn

With a gold tooth!

Vacation

Just so awesome.

July 23, 2010

Packing

Without four scarves, a baseball hat,

the Talmud, a selection of international literary fiction, and "a deliciously mordant send-up of the publishing world,"

can you even call it a vacation?

I am about to go on vacation

But before I go,

Are you hip to what's happening here??

Buds! It's going to bloom!

July 21, 2010

Manhattan Avenue dog

It totally gave me the cold shoulder.

Greg

His eyes are like chocklit drops.

Regardez

The perfect ice cream cone.

Not too big.

If this:

Reminds you of this:

You might be working too hard.

Why yes, I am editing a book about Cubist collages!

"Really cheap garbage"

That's Greg's opinion of this tin I found.

EVERY TIME I THINK OF IT I BURST OUT LAUGHING!
