Right-hand windowsill = special experimental nursery.
Featuring cuttings from someone's sidewalk garden in LA (illegally transported out of California in my carry-on):
A sprig lifted from a display plant outside a garden store in Brooklyn (soooo bad!):
From a potted plant in front of an apartment building in my neighborhood:
This one is a cutting from a plant I actually paid for:
These little dudes are also from LA:
And last but not least, these fellas, grown from a "piglet" surreptitously removed from a sow-and-piglets plant at an apartment sale:
I love them all so much!
Every morning I inspect them minutely from a distance of one centimeter, grinning with joy and cackling softly to myself.

Do you know what's awesome?
What's awesome is: this chair was irredeemable, but I went back and grabbed the glides!!
I could only get three off, though (Greg even tried)—but it's better than zero . . .
I stuck them on the green Eames chair I found a couple years ago! Now it's almost completely rehabbed, for zero dollars.
AW. YEAH.
(Do you like how my mini foot is sticking into the picture?)

Dinner
Veggie-tastic!
I count around twelve different plants in here, including Japanese plum (vinegar), olives and sesame (oil), wheat (cous cous), soybeans (tofu), corn, spinach, carrot, and multiple varieties of baby greens.

Last week
I visited Los Angeles for the first time ever! People, did you know there are places where the weather is nice EVERY DAY, people are not completely stressed out, and it is not ugly at all??!
I wore flip flops, there were palm trees, I ate frozen yoghurt twice (very uncharacteristic!), I visited my friend's awesome live/work studio, I hung out with my pals, I ate SOOO much good food, there were doggies, I went to the beach and to the Getty, and in addition to a coyote, several hummingbirds, and three cottontails, I saw an amazing giant eagle!

Wow, right?
Tonight!
It rained this morning so I left my bike at home and took the bus. Walking home after work, I found a very special, very old item:
Red Devil Supreme Quality High Gloss Enamel.
The Can with the Color on the Top! Apply . . . Fast Dry! Looks New!
You may use it on your roadster. And/or perambulator.
Also:

The exact color of my flesh.

Greg Reynolds!
He has won a sculpture commission for Randall's Island in the East River!
It's gonna look like this:
Seventeen-foot rowboat, yo!

More found stuffffff!
I toted these home in my bike basket on Sunday:
A bunch of Childcraft books from the seventies (they are surprisingly awesome!).
And . . .
A basket. In which I stuck a bunch of crochet stuff.
Handy.

Found last night!
On the way home from a run in the park:
An awesome new chair! Quite old and very well made.
(Please ignore all forms of mess in this picture.)
And on the chair, in a box:

OMG OMG OMG—it matches this one!

Yes, the world is indeed full of hats.

AWESOME GOOFUS AND GALLANT BABIES. (Gallant is the one on the swing, obvs)
And bonus:

Mini cowboy on Shetland pony.
YEAH!!!

Ha ha ha!
God I love "Hark, A Vagrant."
Add some glasses to the little girl and you got R. Roberts (though as a child I was interested more in bikes than skateboards).

Waterlogged YA books!
My sister spotted two boxes of them down the street.
I took these four (they weren't too wet) and I laid the rest out in the sun to dry.
I am reading Howl's Moving Castle right now and it is soooooo good!

Workplace mystery
Someone removed the pom poms from my doorknob in the night and placed them on my chair.
Motivation unknown.

This morning
On the way to the subway:

A filthy Eames chair!
Does anyone recognize this logo?

If it's not Vitra or Henry Miller I think it means this is a knock-off, but it's odd in that case that it is numbered.
I wonder what is underneath that narsty upholstery?
UPDATE: It's the logo of the airline Lufthansa! They must have bought a bunch of these at one time; how did it get to Brooklyn? Thanks Margot and Greg!!

Is it weird
To buy a child's sweater when you don't have a child?
I saw this hand-made item at Value Village in Montreal and for some reason I had to have it.
And now I do.
